It’s Wednesday, May 14th and it’s 4:20 somewhere in the world. I’m your host, “Radical” Russ Belville.

Don’t forget to call your Congress and tell them to support HR5842 & HR5843 to end DEA raids in medical marijuana states and to legalize personal possession of marijuana. The number is 202-224-3121.

If you have a product that you would like to market to the cannabis community, you can advertise on the Daily Audio Stash. Your ad will be focused on exactly the customer base you’re seeking out; the thousands of responsible cannabis consumers who download and listen to this show. Our listeners are educated consumers who want to support the businesses that support the growing truth about cannabis, and we deliver the advertising freedom you won’t find on radio, TV, or print ads. To advertise on the Daily Audio Stash, send us an email at stash @ norml.org.

Wednesday is Cannabis Science day on the Stash, and coming up after the news, we’re joined as always by Dr. Mitch Earleywine from the State University of New York at Albany. Dr. Mitch is here to talk about the latest quack science report making the rounds courtesy of the Drug Czar – the idea that heavy marijuana use leads to teen depression.

Cannabis Karri brings us our musical break this hempday humpday with some Hawaiian hip-hop from a group called Amphibeus Tungs… voted by the staff of the Daily Audio Stash our favorite new band name. Their song is a relaxing beach number called “Smoke that Feelen” – ah, pakalolo and a white sand beach…

Then we’re speaking with Dr. Melanie Dreher, a researcher at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Dreher led one of the most definitive studies on the effects of cannabis smoking on pregnant women and their children. We’ll ask her about American courts in the news lately that have convicted new mothers of child abuse when their babies test positive for marijuana.

Don’t forget that it’s not too late to enter our latest “Pass the Stash” contest. You could win a free DVD from Suburban Noize Records’ rappers Kingspade. Stay tuned for details later in the podcast

Welcome to the show, load up your George W. Bong and sit back with your favorite strain… This is your NORML Daily Audio Stash.

Wednesday is Cannabis Science day on the Stash, and coming up after the news, we’re separating the stems of propaganda from the buds of truth with Dr. Mitch Earleywine. Today Dr. Mitch and I discuss the lead contamination found in some German marijuana and the insane idea of treating marijuana “addiction” with lithium.

Cannabis Karri brings us our musical break this hempday humpday with an Asian rapper named Khmer Kid. Based in Los Angeles, Khmer Kid’s anthem “Smoke Weed” will bring you back down from your Tax Day anxiety.

Then we wrap things up with Dale Geiringer, the Executive Director of California NORML. Dale’s got some great news about the fight to protect California’s Prop 215 patients from employment discrimination.

Wednesday is Cannabis Science day on the Stash, and coming up after the news, we’re separating the stems of propaganda from the buds of truth with Dr. Mitch Earleywine. Today Dr. Mitch has a message for the prime minister of the United Kingdom, Gordon Brown, who is considering upgrading the classification of cannabis from a fine-only drug to one that can get you arrested, despite his panel of experts recommending against it.

My name is Inigo Montoya. You stole my Stash. Prepare to die!Cannabis Karri is back for our musical break this hempday humpday with some reggae from a group called “Pirate Radio”. The song is called “The Dread Pirate Roberts”, and it just makes me wonder if one of the band members isn’t named “Inigo Montoya”.

Then we wrap things up with Mike Gray of Common Sense for Drug Policy, the acclaimed filmmaker and screenwriter and author of Drug Crazy. Mike is promoting a new educational DVD entitled Clergy Speak Out on the War on Drugs and it is a powerful look at the rabbis, priests, and ministers who work on the front lines of the drug war every day and deal with the people left hopeless by addiction.

Wednesday is Cannabis Science day on the Stash, and coming up after the news, we’re separating the stems of propaganda from the buds of truth with Dr. Mitch Earleywine. Today Dr. Mitch takes on the myth of the amotivational syndrome supposedly suffered by longtime tokers. I was going to read up on those studies myself, but I was too busy working my four jobs.

Cannabis Karri is back for our musical break this hempday humpday with another slammin’ hip-hop duo from Suburban Noize Records with the appropriate name of “Potluck”. We’re getting’ jiggy with their new joint, “Get High”. (And I believe I just dated myself as being hopelessly un-hip by writing “jiggy”.)

Then we wrap things up with Iggy, who is a field director for Patients Without Time out on the island of Maui in Hawaii, to discuss the Hawaiian legislature’s latest attempts to modify Hawaii’s medical marijuana law.

Oh, and by the way, so sorry if I freaked anybody out with yesterday’s April Fools Day stories. Marijuana’s not really legal, Bush isn’t really letting out 70,000 pot-only prisoners, and ganja will not make your man parts any larger. But a podcast host can dream, can’t he?

Wednesday is Cannabis Science day on the Stash, and coming up after the news, we’re separating the stems of propaganda from the buds of truth with Dr. Mitch Earleywine. Today Dr. Mitch has a message to all the college students who are living it up on Spring Break this week – be safe and sensible. Learn his techniques for going “on the P.R.O.W.L.” as you party.

Then Cannabis Karri has unearthed a singer/songwriter duo called Molly and Sonny Boy from Minnesota performing their song called “Relax Your Mind” for today’s musical break

Then we wrap things up with NORML’s Deputy Director, Paul Armentano, who joins me to discuss the new push by prohibitionists to create the concept of “marijuana addiction” to support prohibition, while fully one-third of such “addicts” in treatment haven’t even used marijuana in over a month!

Wednesday is Cannabis Science day on the Stash, and coming up after the news, we’re separating the stems of propaganda from the buds of truth with Dr. Mitch Earleywine.  Today we answer your questions about marijuana and parenting in our Pass the Stash contest.  What do you tell your kids about pot?  Learn how to talk to them with Dr. Earleywine’s new book, Parents Guide to Marijuana.

Then Cannabis Karri has unearthed a singer/songwriter named Yuya Joe performing his song called “Ganja Wise”, a nice reggae-rock tune for our musical break.

And we end our show today speaking with Kris Krane, the executive director of Students for Sensible Drug Policy, who just returned from Vienna, Austria, and the international UN Conference on Narcotic Drugs, or as I call it, the international drug czar convention.

Tuesday is Government at Work day on the podcast, and coming up after the news, we’ve got audio from the recent hearings at the Oregon State Legislature as medical marijuana advocates, including yours truly, testify against the lobbyists trying to prevent patients from holding down certain jobs based on positive urine tests for marijuana metabolites.

Next we have sarcastically funny hemp hoe-down with music from The Sneakers with their song The Ballad of Devil Weed. Then it’s on to our interview with Dr. Mitch Earleywine as he deconstructs the latest reefer madness headlines from the latest studies that claim marijuana smoking leads to gum disease and is just as addictive as cigarettes.

Also, a little note on the posting times. I’m on the West Coast. Posting at 4:20pm Eastern Time puts me at 1:20pm Pacific, which is impossible for me since I still work a day job (yeah, can you believe it, working for NORML doesn’t pay like working for “the man”… but the “benefits package” is much sweeter!). So forthwith, I will be posting the Daily Audio Stash at 4:20pm Greenwich Time, which is 11:20am Eastern, 8:20am Pacific (I knew it would be 4:20 somewhere in the world before I had to be in the office; Greenwich Time is the default time zone for the planet, so it worked out quite nicely). Now you can listen to the Stash on your lunch hour! — “R”R
