Not much go together better than Cannabis and video games. I know for a fact I play better and more on top of my game when I’m high, and am routinely pwnd when I’m not. In fact I make it a point to use both Cannabis and video games in combo to lessen distractions and stress in my life. Mix in great music to that and you have the perfect setting. Which brings us to this weeks tune by the group Ground Up with their soundtrack to video game life called “Gnarcade”.

Donnie Cross is a rapper from Mississippi, and his tune ‘Keep a Secret’ is a little off the beaten path of his normal sounding tracks. A radio friendly R&B tune is a lot different than his normal up-tempo aggressive joints. But, the lady fans spoke and Donnie Cross responded. It’s only a matter of time until every other style of music is touched by the many tracks he releases. In fact I get more great tracks sent in by this artist on a consistent basis than almost any other.

Hed PE was first signed by a major label in ’97 to Jive Records, and eventually found their way to their current home with Suburban Noize Records in 2006. Seven studio albums and one live pressing later they are still touring and may be near you. Check em out. One of my favorite Live bands, Hed PE with “For Smokers Only”.

You can’t argue with a great tune like “Cry Baby” the sound of this group is a little different than most. Dukes of DeVille have been around making mixtapes for a long time, and have made some great connections in the industry, both with other artists and with record companies. In 2006 the Dukes of DaVille were signed to their own record company Trakkaddixx Music with a joint deal on Capital Records.
