I think weed should be legal for many reasons. For one the so called DRUG has never killed anybody unless they have mixed it with something else or they are just stupid at that time. Me persanily have never heard of anyone like that. They have proven that it does more good thin bad. In fact what bad can it do. Lets see it kills off the brain that we don’t need and as far as driving goes people will just go slower………..

Potato, Potahto. By your definition, toad sweat and scorpion venom are drugs as well. I’m also well aware of anandamide and CB1 & CB2 receptors. My point is that a plant evolved to mimic those endo-chemicals in a way that was beneficial to humans. What a beautiful thing!

The guy (Radical Russ) you are responding to wrote his post in proper english so what is your problem? He typed in better grammer then you did. I’m sure he smokes pot. So since always I suppose.

Besides what does smoking have to do with using proper language? Lots of smokers do and don’t. It’s almost like its exactly the same as most other populations. Ever speak to a bunch of computer techs? They use worse grammer and language then most stoners.

Finally this doesn’t really have anything to do with medical marijuana. The article above refers to legalization in general not just for medical and is what norml supports. I would also add that addicted pot users probably shouldn’t have any at all. Legal or not. Responible recreational pot users would benefit in a number of ways. Namely, being able to freely enjoy a less harmful relaxtion tool then alcohol.

yea i would say that’s pretty likely. exactly how opiod addicts go to doctors saying theyre in extreme pain to get their vicodin or whatever else they want but does that mean we shouldn’t give ANYONE opoids because some might be faking? That would just be ridiculous. We wouldn’t be able to precribe any medications if we start operating like that. How about throwing everyone in jail that gets charged with something without a trial because people claim innocence when they are not? Both those examples would cause more harm then some people smoking pot without a medical reason. Besides you don’t have to be hooked to want that, you just have to like it and not want to get thrown in jail.

umm ya wrong. there are endogenous (naturally occuring) cannabinoids present in our bodies (i.e. anandamide). That is what the receptors are there for. They’re not just there for us to smoke pot. oh and “A drug, broadly speaking, is any substance that, when absorbed into the body of a living organism, alters normal bodily function”.

I got news for you, cannabis does alter normal bodily function and is in fact a drug no matter what else it is in addition to that. Now I would argue that it doesn’t fit the definition of a nutrient either but I’ll let that slide for now.

The compounds left over in your body aren’t nutrients or toxins. They aren’t really doing anything. They’re just left overs from breaking down THC that take a long time to clear out of your body due to their physical make up. They’re called metabolites. Takes a long time to pass gum you’ve swallowed too but its not a toxin or a nutrient either.

Having said all that it should still be legalized. Metabolizing alcohol does infact produce toxic intermediary metabolites as well as reactive oxygen species (also bad) and its legal.

Cocaine is not a plant. Coca is a plant. Cocaine is what man makes out of it.

Your mind is stuck in that pharmaceutical Matrix where you cannot believe something is therapeutic unless a serious man in a white lab coat hands you an orange bottle filled with factory-made pills, and then only after you’ve received a permission slip from another serious man in a white lab coat, and then only after you’ve paid a 250,000% markup to bankroll a multinational corporation. You just can’t wrap your tiny mind around the concept that God/Nature/Evolution put all sorts of plants on this planet to help mankind. You’re the type who’d spend money on a diphenhydramine spray rather than break off a frond of aloe vera plant and rub it on your skin.

I sincerely hope you never have to discover firsthand how beneficial cannabis therapy is for cancer patients. Unlike my wife’s sister who died of breast cancer.

Jeannie, I’d have no idea because I’ve never used crack. However, it is common knowledge in the community that cannabis is a fantastic aphrodisiac. You might want to try it sometime.

what would this world be like if every living human smoked a joint right now?to scary to think about it I can see it now all fast joints get robbed and raided by citys potheads…hell they couldnt pay for the food with money cause potheads dont work. They might one day a week if they run out of pot..
