medical marijuana is a safe alternative for people that can not take pills for many reasons it will take the pain away and if you look at a poll there has not been any deaths due to marijuana. you always hear about people getting killed from smoking cigarettes and drinking and driving. it is not a hazardous to a anybody’s life it will just make the pain go away and let that person have a better pain free life. so please vote yes thank you.

As a Tennessean who has been fighting diligently for 4 years, primarily on my own, I can’t begin to tell you how frustrating the situation is here. Most Tennesseeans don’t even know that Bill 2511 has passed the Senate Review Committee and is now ready to be voted upon now in 2012! There is pressure from Governor Bill Haslam to stall on this bill until he leaves office. We need more concerned Tennesseans!!!
The time is now to help Tennessee!

  4. matt

    Please pass this bill

  5. Rosa Harris

I know that this kind of bill is going to be hard for you to consider passing, I understand that.
But , I am asking you to please pass this bill. For the sake of the ones who really need it.

    Thank you

I would like my congresspersons to vote for the legalization ASAP

If it may concern any of you, Medical Marijuana should be LEGAL. I am diagnosed with bipolar and anxiety. When i smoke it my anxiety calms down and my mood swings from Bipolar disorder go away. Though, i feel like a criminal each time i puff a joint because its “Illegal” and illegal for the wrong reason. Not gonna probably persuade the government but man… they gotta wake up and smell the coffee and realize that theirs people out their suffering in their pain and just want a plant to make them feel better and if all it takes is a small bill to pass, it can save lives.

My wife and I recently took a trip to Denver, Co. Thier MMJ program seems to be working just fine. There are no dealers on the streets. They have balanced thier economic budget in (1) single year, from the taxation and regulation of medical marijuana. The surplus of local funds are being fed into the school systems and needy organizations. When is the rest of the country going to wake up and see the opportunities that passing this law will create? We, as smokers, want to help our country. We are NOT bad people. This law will help to remove the undesireables from our society, as well as, take a major source of income away from gangs and criminal organizations. Most Americans agree on the taxation and regulation of a harmless substance, which has the ability to solve a big number of our society’s issues. HEAR MY VOICE. I AM A PROUD AMERICAN, AND OUR GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO START LISTENING TO IT’S CITIZENS. ISN’T THAT WHAT WHAT WE WERE TAUGHT TO BELIEVE IN? DEMOCRACY, FAIRNESS, COMPASSION, TRUE JUSTICE, AND COMMON SENSE?

I moved to Tennessee two years ago and I’ve been appalled at the state of pain management. I have never been treated this bad, and that is saying something with ten years behind me of pain specialists.

    Hi

Two years ago I was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. I have been treating myself with all natural approaches such as colonic cleansing, ozone and special nutritional supplements to build up my immune system. I have been using marijuana with a medical vaporizer for depression and appetite enhancement.

I moved to Tn. a year ago to be near natural healers who could help me with my self healing program.

Recently during a domestic argument with my then girlfriend, she dialed 911 and the police swooped down on me, searched my house illegally and took me to jail. I was arrested for marijuana possession, growing with intent to sell. I grew a single plant and was going to make hemp oil to help cure myself of cancer. My pending hearing is on Jan 21, 2011.

I recently learned that hemp oil has been used successfully to heal many people in Canada of cancer.

I am including a link here for the movie.

When I was 29yrs old I had to have a complete hysterectomy. 2yrs later I lost my health insurance and could no longer afford the exspencesof hormones or even doctor visits.I suffered from terrible mood swings ,so much so that my husband divorced me.The hot flashes and night sweats were unbearable,I could berely hold a job.And then an 63 yr old aquintance sugested I try Marijuana. I had never smoked it before and was shocked. And after a couple of moths passed I finely gave in and tryed it. No more mood swings ! Went from up to 10 sometimes more hot flashes a day to maybe 2 a week .Night sweats and insomnia gone!!!! I dont use anything besides pot. I’m my own boss!! and I remarried nearly 10 yrs ago. Please Legalize It ! Even if it is just medically .At least its a step in the right direction!!!

  17. Cortney

of all the things the legal system could get rid of they always want to crack down on pot smoking when really the police and judges more than likely use it quit takin this wonderful god given plant and worry about the meth houses and crack houses that really are a threat to the world

  18. Jonathan

The problem here is that it takes too long for those of us that NEED it…
Another good point to remember is that this is not just a “legalization” move, the fact that it is illegal in the first place is unconstitutional in the since that many Americans like myself refuse to put anything unnatural into our bodies like “medicine” because of our beliefs…
What ever happened to the freedom to practice one’s beliefs anyways?

My Mother is dying of Multiple Myeloma. She has been so sick, throws up everything she eats. She is currently taking Zofran [ $400 for a 10 day supply ] and it doesn’t seem to help very much. If she could take something natural, that God surely put here for a reason, and it would help her suffering, how wonderful that would be!!!!

I have severe nausea and indigestion, high anxiety with frequent panic attacks… meds haven’t done any good.. they only worsen the problem.. Tennessee please legalize marijuana.. I don’t want to be thought of as a criminal I only want to feel better.. marijuana is my only saviour at this point.. reform needs to happen now.

Now it is extremely important to contact your TN legislator right now to support the Safe Access to Medical Cannabis. The next vote is next Tuesday, the 27th.

I had a stroke 7 years ago, I suffer everyday from migraines, depression. The stroke took about 80% of my vision. I have taken everything under the sun that has been prescribed by my physicians. Cannabis works best. I choose to smoke.

  24. Bobby Johnson

I have severe osteoarthritis and degenerative disease of the spine, shoulders and knees. I have had both of my shoulders surgically replaced and have undergone extensive physical therapy. I have been prescribed Celebrex, Hydrocodone, meperidine and Ambien CR, in an attempt to alleviate the constant pain, I also have used marijuana as a food additive (it does not have to be smoked to receive the medicinal benefits) and find it to be very beneficial in relieving my pain and as a sleep aid.
I believe that anyone who is familiar with the benefits of marijuana would pray for the legalization of this wonderful herb
.Having been a member of a police agency I do know that there are lingering attitudes against this herb by persons who are against its progression of medical usage. However these are the same persons who are ignorant of the benefits of marijuana and probably don’t suffer my chronic type of pain.
I recommend that our legislature watch the documentary “The Union, The Business Behind Getting High”

Im a55 yr old retired factory worker , I wrecked my back those 32yrs and had to have the last two discs fused to my hip The 6 titanium screws an rods running up from my hip ,keep me in constant pain some thing I’ll live with forever . I was in the bed for six mo. an took morphine and hydrocodone untill my son got me some pot that finally let me relax an go to sleep without any painkillers We need this law passed to let people like me get off the real bad drugs (hydrocodone) and vape my pain away.

  29. michael

I had a stroke years ago. i have lived with migraines most of my life. I was taking meds the last 5 years that attack my liver, kidneys, and can attack the pancreas. Kidney problems run in my family in the genetics of it. I want to the doctor yesterday only to have my meds doubled and given a new pill to take. I smoke cannabus for my migraines and it stops the pains from it. i am able to lead a somewhat normal life with cannabus considering I am legally blind due to my vision fields.
