US District Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan Refuses to Resign

Mary Beth Buchanan, the U.S. attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania, who oversaw a recent FBI raid of fundraisers close to Rep. John P. Murtha (D-Pa.), told local reporters after the November election that she did not plan to voluntarily resign.
Buchanan had held top political jobs in the Bush Justice Department, where she directed the office of violence against women and led the unit that oversees the nation’s U.S. attorneys. She is a member of the conservative Federalist Society legal group and cultivated close connections to former senator Rick Santorum (R-Pa.), an advocate for antiabortion and Christian groups.

You may remember District Attorney Buchanan oversaw Operation Pipe Dreams which was a $12 million dollar law enforcement operation targeted at individuals conducting online sales of water pipes and other devices that could be considered drug paraphernalia. The investigation resulted in 55 individuals being charged, most notably Tommy Chong.

Is that kook still in there? when will Obama send her on her merry way?
What has me worried is that she is likely refusing to leave because she is in the middle of one of here retarded money wasting schemes right now. She might be spending millions of dollars to put drapes on nude statues in the justice department building, or put another Tommy Chong type in prison. It is scary to think what kind of trouble she is causing up there at this very moment.
This is a bold gambit by Buchanan. She knows that the President has the authority to fire her outright. But if he does, he’ll garner a lot of controversy. This will cost time, energy, and precious political capital. Will Obama think it’s more effort than its worth?
Either way, Buchanan wins. If she’s fired, she’ll become a martyr. If she’s not fired, she remains one of the most powerful lawyers in government. And you can bet your bottom dollar she’ll soon be a folk-hero to social conservatives.
Why? Buchanan chooses to press cases against “unsympathetic” defendants to gain easy victories that will further the conservative cause. For instance, she prosecuted an obscenity case against a women who took no pictures but only wrote fictional stories about child abuse. (Source)
A little internet research reveals that Buchanan is not a particularly competent lawyer. Her vision of public service is highly dubious since it involves prosecuting victimless “moral” crimes even as violence, corruption, and large-scale fraud goes unpunished. But as a politician, she’s aces.
If Buchanan gets fired, will she claim that Obama is “sticking up for child pornographers?”
Is there no mailing action we can take? No place we can send letters stating we think she has wasted enough of the taxpayers money on nonsense and request she resign?
Can we ask Obama to politely send her on her way?
These People give Christians like me a bad name. You know, there are certain things that my faith requires of me, to be a “good” christian. Putting people in jail and prosecuting them for their glass blowing and personal relaxation techniques. Come on you OLD HAGS. If you want to make a difference, try putting down your gavel, and pick up the Bible. God did not intend for us to make life hard for everyone. We are suppose to spread the good news, not spread the discrimination, prosecution, and ridiculous laws.
