The FDA never approved the use of thalidomide.
It was used in Europe but not in the U.S.

We need to hold "Curly" (yeah, he's a stooge) and Obama to their purported "policy" of letting science be the deciding factor in this and other crucial issues...

Their waffling on this critical point is blatant buckling to big-money concerns. Corruption---plain and simple.

We voted for truth and hope, not lies about dope.

The drug scar's* prohibitionist babble reeks to high heaven of big pharma, et al's pressure to ban "crude plant" therapy in favor of specific chemical components which they can patent and profit from.

Profit be damned! We need our weed. Free the weed you crooked, greedy bastards! Let the truth out, and give science the chance to prove the efficacy of this tried and true natural remedy for most of what ails us.

We must demand once and for all that our "leaders" stop misleading us. Mis- and disinformation spewed by public officials is unconscionable, and should be prosecuted as a crime.

Let us return to the accountability which our Constitution demands of our elected and appointed representatives.

When we all begin to demand the truth from the Whitehouse, ONDCP, FDA, DEA, NIDA ad nauseum, the heretofore hidden facts will eventually emerge.

Thank you Stash, NORML, ASA, MPP, THCF, SAFER, LEAP and all the rest of the selfless organizations and individuals working so hard every day to bring the old guard to account for THEIR crimes, i.e. deliberately deceiving us for more than 70 years!

*Czar, Scar, mindless mouthpiece of the spectacularly failed drug war; it's all the same bullshit remnant of a bygone era of bigotry and intentional ignorance and treachery.

Happy Halloweed! :pot:

Legalization is being sold as being a cure to ending violence in Mexico, as a cure to state budget problems, as a cure to health problems. The American public should be skeptical of anyone
selling one solution as a cure for every single problem.

Ending prohibition would not cure every single problem. I have never heard anyone claim that it would. But, ending prohibition would probably eliminate most of the problems that were created by prohibition.

i bet any amount of money, hell id even bet my life that if the FDA were to ever seriously evaluate marijuana, it would surpass all standards and be approved for more conditions than anyone would ever hope for......i would say that we should demand the evaluation of marijuana by the FDA but they are part of the government.... no good... we need a company that is not affected by the government at all....ya know, like scientists and doctors.... oh wait, most approve of marijuana use.... but the FDA hasnt.... but our government wont let them because there hasnt been enough studies on it to prove its medicinal.... yet they wont let the FDA evaluate it because its not medicine.... AHHHHH its one big bullshit circle! They must be waiting for the majority of americans to agree with marijuana before any policy changes... unfortunatly, our government thinks the majority is 80% of people.... companies and lobbyists account for 75% of the population to them... so i guess we are screwed...... did any of that make sense? i dont care, it sounded like it did and the good guys will be reading it!
