Tonight I’ll be posting Part 2 of my blog series “Pain Politics“ about the medical marijuana bill moving into the final legislative stages in the Garden State. While my own realms of media are in writing and audio, we all know how important video is to our cause. That is why the Coalition for Medical Marijuana – NJ is so thankful to have found a new partner in DE Productions of Tom’s River, NJ.
A special thanks to Stash Host and NORML Outreach Coordinator Russ Beville for hooking us up with local advocate Grant from DE Productions. Their contribution has been tremendous; turning around video quickly and professionally from the NJ Assembly Committee hearing and the Cheryl Miller Candlelight Vigil.
All the videos can be found at the CMM-NJ YouTube Channel
Here are some of the most compelling, first the 6/4/09 NJ Assembly committee hearing :
Testimony of ALS Patient Diane Riportella-
These next videos feature the sponsors of the Compassionate Use Medical Marijuana Act: Assemblyman Reed Gusciora, Assemblywoman Joan Voss, Senator Nick Scutari and Assemblyman Michael Patrick Carroll. In these next two videos the sponsors introduce the bill to the committee and then explain some of the substitutions.
We also were lucky to have Grant there for the 6/7/09 Cheryl Miller Candlelight Vigil on the steps of the state house in Trenton. Jim Miller, the co-founder of CMM-NJ and one fo the most effective and active medical marijuana advocates in the region speaks here on the anniversary of Cheryl’s death about her final moments.
Another local vigil takes place on July 11th at the Independence Visitor Center in Philadephia in a rally for medical marijuana access in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
