Roseannearchy: In her new book, comedian Roseanne Barr admits smoking marijuana kept her “balanced enough to become successful and rich”.
(Cannabis Culture) The gutsiest and most populist comedienne ever born, Roseanne Barr has followed her television and film successes with a writing career. Her latest book, Roseannearchy: Dispatches from the Nut Farm contains more homespun humor from a woman whose rocky road of fame has matured her voice. In it, she explains that her sincere and failed attempt to sing the National Anthem was fueled by psychiatric drugs and a lack of marijuana. She writes:
“Shortly after the National Anthem horror, I started to feel as though I were waking up from a bad nightmare. The Prozac, Zoloft, Klonopin, and several other mood-altering drugs that had been prescribed for me by psychiatrists (whose destruction by Scientology I now welcome) for my “Multiple-Personality Bipolar Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder” were no longer doing the trick of shielding me from reality. I became even more depressed than normal, like a lot of people do after they take antidepressants.
“I had stopped smoking the Herb of the Goddess that had forever kept me balanced enough to become successful and rich, in order to support my then-husband’s ‘sobriety,’ and that led to massive bipolar troubles that were all capped off with tons of psychiatrists and psychiatric drugs, none of which helped with my problems at all and, in fact, made them even worse.”
Barr’s hilarious 2006 HBO special “Blonde and Bitchin’” contained her trenchant observation, “The War on Drugs is a war on poor people using street drugs waged by rich people on prescription drugs. In Roseannarchy, she writes of “a natural substance called THC” and says it’s “the only drug that should be legal. In fact, it should be mandatory.” She also recommends meditation and invites all to join her at 2AM on Friday night/Saturday morning (she posts her present time zone on RoseanneWorld.com).

No. NORML, when asked about Roseanne’s candidacy, mentioned that we approve of any presidential candidate who supports an end to prohibition.
Roseanne endorsed by NORML?
I wrote an article and made a video about this last month.
Roseanne barr is not a good candidate for president!
The only thing she cares about is causing trouble in the election and not real issues like cannabis.
I agree with all of this. This is just a farce and the government plays a big part in its nonlegalization. Americans even baby boomers smoke weed. It is no big deal. You aren’t going to be a junky. This is
just junk put out by the govt. Make alchohol illegal then because I read of DUI’s all the time.
Roseanne is right on her position on drugs but other than that it’s horrible to support her stupid presidential campaign. This is the same woman who just a couple of months ago on *RUSSIAN* government-slanted TV said that american CEOs should be *BEHEADED*. She’s a full on communist. News flash people: communists are not for individual liberty. See following link: http://digitaljournal.com/article/312234
You’ve gotta love Roseanne Barr…for many reasons. As an advocate and user of medical cannabis, I emphatically agree with Roseanne’s perspective. Cannabis use keeps me balanced, energetic, productive, creative, and calm. Cannabis is the only sensibly naturalistic alternative to prescription drugs, and the pharmaceutical companies whom all profit enormously.
Let’s all get used to the status quo as far as the pharmaceutical lobbyists proclaiming the dangers of cannabis and promoting the war on drugs. Fuck pharmaceuticals and fuck alcohol – let’s all enjoy nature’s best moderator of moods and ailments – cannabis.
Cannabis cures…it cures many cancers and health maladies…science proves this. No deaths have been reported due to cannabis use. Yet government and societal ignorance and ignoring the issue prevail, all in the famed name of power, politics, and greed.
We expect too much. We expect our cannabis smoking elected officials to come out of the closet and be sportively counted. We expect our non-smoking officials to open their minds for once in their lives, sit down and smoke a joint and discuss getting their shit together. I do it all the time and it works for me. Enough about me. How about you?
“The War on Drugs is a war on poor people using street drugs waged by rich people on prescription drugs.”
Dam strait it is, how come we are the only ones that see it? The weed opens your eyes and lets the truth run through.
I caught the Roseanne where the kids found the her and Dan’s old bag of weed from the old days. They though it was David’s hahaha Roseanne is a VIP to me
THC Ministry-Year of the GODDESS…cogent logic is now coming into the mainstream media…argumentum ad verecundiam is the problem. Let the science of Dr. Earleywine and Dr. Bob Melamede be quoted repeatedly, and Jack Nicholson and Roseanne Barr do thespian artwork.
