In Colorado, the ‘budtenders’ selling medical pot are often women. Yes, hot women. (After all, Colorado dispensaries are more commercial–we don’t have to be non-profits. It’s a tough economy–bring on the pin-ups.) But they also speak their mind, talk some shit, and sell ever-more weed. This one writes a blog. There are typically more guys than ladies in my circle but I’ve been a visitor in quite a few circles where guys were in the minority.

I do know a great deal of ladies who burn but they are fairly quiet about their use compared to us guys (even when around like-minded folks). In the comments of Mamakind’s article, someone mentioned that the reason could have something to do w/ society’s view that cannabis use is more of a “guy thing” and that the stigma of being labeled a toker is worst on them (e.g. seen as an unfit mother and could have their children taken away). I don’t know if that is the real answer but that does make a little sense.

I’d really like to see more female Pot Icons though.

Yeah, all three are all female celebrities who are famous and open about pot but are they “Pot Icons”? When we think of those women do we automatically associate them w/ cannabis (like someone would when you mention Cheech & Chong or Snoop Dogg)? Or more, does someone who’s not familiar in the cannabis community quickly associate those women w/ cannabis? I’m going to have to say “no”.

Mamakind’s made a distinct definition of what she meant by “Pot Icon” and I have to agree w/ her, there are little to no women out there w/ that label.

last night, there was 6 of us smoking, 3 of which were girls.

FYI… the lead actress in Twilight, smokes. There is a pic of her floating around of her on a boat in a white bikini with pot leafs printed on her bikini.
Personally I think thats a pretty big female icon for the moment..
How much did Twilight make?

My girl smokes made weed but couldn’t care less about the Stash…XXX only knows I’ve tried!

She agree’s with most of our ideas but is SOoooo intimidated by cops and protesters…

Hey Russ. Well…..I’ll have to admit I am a rare breed. Out here in South Eastern Pa, there aren’t too many girls that are involved in the marijuana scene. I know a lot of girls who smoke weed, but are not involved in any activist activities. The marijuana culture is definitely geared towards the male audience. Just for once I want to see a comedy about girl stoners or something along that sort. I LOVE WEEDS i think its the greatest show but……I don’t think she actually smokes weed, all the males on the show pretty much do. And where are all the sexy hot male stoners? come on…cheech and chong….seth rogan…….sean penn……yikes. Need more hot men. Now.

hmm this is a good question but a hard one to answer, But I do think some of the sexy pin ups posted of our ladie stoner’ets possibly keeps them at bay, but I dont really know, I actually would like to hear a Womans perspective.
