Sorry, but that would be ILLEGAL.

See, we are a 501c3 and 501c4. Under those reguylations, we cannot endorse candidates.

But we have reported many many times on Rep. Ron Paul's support for leaving marijuana policies to the states (note: he's not "anti-prohibition"; he's anti-federal-prohibition.)

We've also reported on the marijuana stands of numerous candidates as they become news. And in 2012 we will offer a compendium of the candidates' stands and actions on marijuana.

But, no, NORML is not going to be The Ron Paul Cheerleading Foundation.

Russ,

Would it be offensive to ask for NORML to publicly support a presidential candidate? If the sole reason NORML exists is to reform Marijuana law would it not be in NORML's best interest to show support for the candidate most likely to get reform passed? Sure the current president stated that he would get the Federal government out of this issue and leave it up to the states, but we all know how that turned out. I know NORML has an agenda and its not to help people get elected, but seriously. There are a TON of people who read NORML and their blogs. These people should at least know that there is a candidate that really actually wants to lets states rights prevail. I beg of you and NORML to promote Ron Paul so we can finally get the reform that we all long for.

Thank you,
