This is a real good idea, IMO. I am always amazed that some law college or group of lawyers don’t hit the Federal government up with something that requires some reasoning behind the scheduling.

Seriously, Schedule 1 = No medicinal value. 16 states allow it due to voter initiatives and many other states (including southern states) have heard testimony regarding the effectiveness (right up until the bill is buried, ignored, dropped…whatever) of cannabis…PLUS, the government supplies a couple of people precisely because it does have medicinal value…PLUS, the government holds a patent due to some medicinal value.

Schedule 1 drugs are also said to have a high level of abuse and be addictive. This is where the head spins. Cause the issue, according to the DEA is THC. Can’t grow hemp here because it looks like marijuana (I have read that is a big NOT) and is only allowed in products from other countries if there isn’t even a trace of THC. THC is responsible for the high, can’t have too much. But wait…what is the Schedule 3 prescription drug Marinol…100% synthetic THC. 100% 100% 100% (Sorry, it just must be repeated). And how do we know about making this MEDICINE in the first place…from the only natural source aka cannabis sativa…you know, the one with no medicinal value.

So, natural, probably less than 15% THC, cannabis sativa is, according to the government, more addictive than the man made 100% synthetic THC found in Marinol :stars:

    Practically renders me speechless.

All I know right now is I moved to Washington state and was successful in qualifying for medical marijuana. Well, now, there’s no where to get it. I don’t know anyone up here and I ain’t going to the streets. The medical marijuana has helped me so very much. All of this bullshit breaks my heart. Games, games, games, at my physical well being expense and thousands of others.

I wonder if this rescheduling is good in the long haul for the recreational user. I know it would open up research which is one of the most important goals in this fight, but will it forever pigeon hole the movement to medical? Any opinions out there?

This is the one thing that Govs in those states should have done years ago. And this is the one thing that would finally force the feds to back the hell off marijuana in general.

Also, if you think about the scale they use to schedule drugs and just the definition of drugs, marijuana shouldnt even be scheduled, is alcohol or tobacco scheduled? Well if they are and I dont think they are then cannabis should be at least one level down from alcohol!
