I am the producer of The NORML Network, the host of the NORML SHOW LIVE and The NORML Stash Blog, and NORML's Outreach Coordinator. I'm married, live in Portland, Oregon, and I am a registered medical marijuana caregiver in this state. I've worked days as an IT geek and nights as a professional musician. Previously, I have been the host of my own political talk radio show on satellite radio. I've been the High Times "Freedom Fighter of the Month" and I travel across the country to educate people on marijuana reform. I've dedicated my life to bringing an end to adult marijuana prohibition and re-legalizing cannabis hemp, and I'm honored to be chosen by NORML to give voice to the Marijuana Nation and to speak for those who can't speak up.

A REALLY good friend of mine at my last job was incredibly supportive of our decision to give cannabis to our son. She tried to find contacts to help get us a grower, and was just generally very accepting.

Given how controversial it is to give a kid pot (even after hearing our situation, some people still think Valium and Haldol are a better choice), I was very appreciative of this support.

I was floored when I found out she’s generally very conservative, very religious, and part of the Tea Party.

Cannabis isn’t a party-specific issue. Republicans, democrats, atheists, Christians, it doesn’t matter. Certain groups may be more likely to support prohibition, but the gap is significantly smaller than any real bipartisan issues.

The enemy isn’t a specific group – it’s the lies people unfortunately tend to believe. A perfectly intelligent and open-minded person can easily fall for complete fabrications when that’s what they hear all their lives. The real trick is just going to be getting the real education to the people who can listen.

My wife and I both joined the Tea Party over a year ago. We have been to five different rallies always proudly wearing NORML shirts, and I bear witness to the fact that about half the people support cannabis and half support prohibition. The problem is that the half that supports prohibition usually isn’t even willing to listen.

The paleoconservatives have reformed the Repubs with a constitutional/libertarian agenda. Alex Jones the most RADICAL voice “nails” the DRUG WAR. This has a tendency to open hemp activities toward other rants….? Dems are in trouble because the Warbama is pure disappointment–DUMP LEONHART. Put DEMS at Defense Dept-DEA to start…love the NORML audio STASH.
