I am now NORML’s National Chapter Outreach Coordinator. In that capacity, I receive the emails from people all across the country looking to join NORML. We currently have 64 chapters and 47 campus chapters in 38 states, and 8 international chapters.
I want a NORML chapter in all fifty states, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. I want double the number of chapters. So I really need your help.
Just this last two weeks, I have received emails from budding activists (pun intended) looking to start NORML Chapters in Colorado, North Carolina, Alaska, Alabama, Florida (Miami), Missouri, Virginia, Idaho, New Hampshire, Kentucky, Mississippi, Vermont, Texas, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Kansas, as well as four new college chapter inquiries and inquiries from Australia, Japan, Guam, and Mexico (Cuidad Juarez).
I work to put the people in the same state in touch with each other because the hardest thing about forming a NORML Chapter isn’t finding the guy or gal to lead, it’s finding the other four people to form your board.
So Stashers, if you’re in one of the above-named states or countries and you’d like to get on board with a new local chapter, send me an email to stash@norml.org with the subject “Join a Chapter” and I’ll hook you up.
Topics: Alabama, Alaska, Australia, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Guam, Idaho, Japan, Kansas, Kentucky, Mexico, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, NORML, NORML Chapters, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin

Im not a smoker but i do see the need to make pot legal becouse I realize its not a true problem having known many people who do smoke are very good and well educated people even more so then myself, and recently my younger brother who was busted with an half an ounce of what he called crappy weed is paying 5000 dollars fine and constantly being harrassed they are ruining his life when before he had a great job and no problems.the problems arose from the police causing it i dont understand why its illegal?and it also helps him with his add which when perscribed meds from the doc. has very bad reaction.pot has no side effects.what is wrong with our system its completly backwards and everyone is brainwashed into believing these lies about marijuana its got to change, and police need to start busting real criminals doing things like meth, coke, etc.
need some info about starting a chapter in Des Moines IA. try to send a email but got denied. plese send me a email at garrisonbulldog@gmail.com thank you

Sorry for the above, I can’t seem to create paragraph breaks on this PC. The above referenced site address in my post is reguarding today’s story about Mexico’s two past Presidents,Brazil and Colombia’s past Presidents and Mexico’s current President announcing they are now in favor of legalizing Marijuana to aleviate the current corruption and slaughter of many reguarding drug trafficing. BTW-I read your page sponsors book “Marijuana Revisited” in 1970. I had found it to be very interesting as a 17 year old. I was quite amazed to see any mention of it this many years later. Another amusing footnote: I read it while I was in jail for …..possession of marijuana-LOL!
RE:CNN.com/World http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/05/13/tennessee.exonerated/index.html?eref=rss_topstories dated today-13May2009—I Wholeheartedly agree it’s WELL past time. The ony ones benefiting from the current illegality of Marijuana are drug dealers, cartels, and corrupt government establishments. For many years now I have believed it’s illegality stems not from our leaders desire to contain it’s usage, but so that ‘the few’ and ‘the connected’ in conjunction with politicians can maximize profits from its sale and distribution. Keeping it illegal certainly limits the competition and the raises the prices astronomically. It’s been a gold mine for some. If marijuana is legalized it will end the corruption factor involving law enforcement and government officials. Look for those enriched individuals along with the liquor and brewery industry to vehemently object to its legalization using everything from morals, patriotism, christianity, and fear. Hey, kind of like the Bush administration used to get their way for eight years. The drug cartels have really cut their own throats this time with their unending wholesale slaughter of thousands which is now extending well into our own borders and no end in sight. Although they don’t get a public say this issue, look for those that do their bidding for them. True there will be many drawbacks in legalizing it, but compared with the level of violence and corruption that criminality has wrought, legalization will be a breath of fresh air. I can’t help but think we will look back and say,”Why didn’t we do this sooner?” While I seldom if ever “partake” anymore, on the rare occasion I do-it’s ridiculous to have to risk arrest and jail or getting robbed just to obtain some for medical side effects. I’m in!
Just bought a house near St George Utah (Inside the Zion curtain)not living there now but would support a group in the area until I move. We need a Norml chapter in this state. I am currently a member of Orange county Norml in calif. contact me at johndog76 @sbc global. net
please need help in Idaho to start a chapter. I live in Idaho Falls. we have a really hard time even talking about cannabis let alone the truth.
I believe that is our god given right to smoke marijuanna if we would choose to I am here in Elk City Oklahoma, Beckham County the very same county that I received two distribution charges and one conspiracy it cost me a substantial amount of money plus i still have another four years of supervised probation left to go I feel I have a very good reason to join NORML
Got an email from the Philippines! Philippines NORML! Wouldn’t that be cool?
Congrats Russ…you da man!!!!
