I am the host of the NORML SHOW LIVE and The NORML Stash Blog. I'm married, live in Portland, Oregon, and I am a registered medical marijuana caregiver in this state. I've worked days as an IT geek and nights as a professional musician. Previously, I have been the host of my own political talk radio show on satellite radio. I've been the High Times "Freedom Fighter of the Month" for my work producing Oregon NORML's TV show, "A Cannabis Community Forum", and for helping to institute Portland's wildly successful medical marijuana cardholders meetings, where we help sick and disabled Oregonians acquire cannabis plant starts, learn gardening, and understand the medical marijuana law. I've dedicated my life to bringing an end to adult marijuana prohibition and re-legalizing cannabis hemp, and I'm honored to be chosen by NORML to be our daily voice.

I agree, In my early teens I was drinking probably like 3-4 sodas (if not more) a day and I’m fairly positive I was addicted to mc’donalds, Badabapapa. When I was ages 6-14 They always tried convincing me I needed pills for ADD, then it was depression, then anxiety, then I might of been bipolar so I’d take this, and I’d get stomach cramps, take that and my heart would race, take this and I’m getting in fights and lashing out, take that and I was dizzy and numb, take this and I’m suicidal. Thank god I managed to abstained from that. The worst part is I always felt like I had no say. I was trusting these people to help me feel well and they actually made my mind a wreck. 14 I actually experimented with cannabis and felt kind of neutral. I started smoking it a little more often several years later and realized it actually helped me feel healthy, for lack of a better word. Though 15-19 was mostly alcohol, 17-19 was a mixture of alcohol, cigarettes and herb till I quit smoking cigarettes and had a run in with the law due to alcohol. I’m 20 and I don’t drink and will have the less than occasional cigarette. I admit I still need to learn how much is enough when it comes to cannabis consumption and I’ve still got some maturing to do but my life has greatly been enhanced by this herb. I believe moderation is key and that hell yes it should be legalized and hopefully not twisted or altered. Also I’d like to apologize for the life story for those of you who feel peeved or annoyed. Keep up the good work Russ. I can honestly say that with the news and all the information this site offers I feel a little less outcast and a little more norml at the risk of sounding like a corny advertisement line :-D Thanks for being around.
