I am the host of the NORML SHOW LIVE and The NORML Stash Blog. I'm married, live in Portland, Oregon, and I am a registered medical marijuana caregiver in this state. I've worked days as an IT geek and nights as a professional musician. Previously, I have been the host of my own political talk radio show on satellite radio. I've been the High Times "Freedom Fighter of the Month" for my work producing Oregon NORML's TV show, "A Cannabis Community Forum", and for helping to institute Portland's wildly successful medical marijuana cardholders meetings, where we help sick and disabled Oregonians acquire cannabis plant starts, learn gardening, and understand the medical marijuana law. I've dedicated my life to bringing an end to adult marijuana prohibition and re-legalizing cannabis hemp, and I'm honored to be chosen by NORML to be our daily voice.

When I first moved to Florida, I loved it, now, I HATE it, This is the most backward-thinking,slave-labor loving, depraved, :-( selfish State in the whole union. I’m moving just as soon as I can get enough money to get out of here. Good Luck to Mr. Dillon, He’s going to need it

I don’t have an opinion one way or the other on the legalization of marijuana, but the William Dillon thing is not about marijuana. It’s about Florida law and compensating innocent people for undeserved incarceration in Florida prisons. The law in question is relatively new (2005?) and is not perfect. However, Mr. Dillon has recourse and will be compensated. A proposed bill has already been sent to the Florida Senate (Florida Senate – 2010 (NP) SB 22 By Senator Haridopolos 26-00107-10). http://www.flsenate.gov/data/session/2010/Senate/bills/billtext/pdf/s0022.pdf. Please go to the attached link and read the proposed bill. No amount of money will ever make up for William Dillon’s incarceration.

Sounds like it’s Florida’s attempt to loophole out of paying for a ridiculous mistake. 27 years is a long time, 50k a year is too low of an amount, compared to what kind of settlements have been paid out for frivolous lawsuits in the past. Guess where my tourism money wont be spent?

Yeah, this is the kind of job that the ACLU was made for.

Stoked, thanks for posting this Russ. Hope I was able to help out Mr. Dillon. This is a call to arms if you are in FL people. This man was robbed of his entire life! Lets not allow this to happen!
