Good point Jillian. Calling all tokers, we should have International Convince a Non-believer Day. If everyone convinced just one non-believer in their life, this marijuana reform issue would have 2/3's majority support overnight.

How about we hit them with the following statements?

If you support prohibition then you've helped trigger the worst crime wave in history.

If you support prohibition you've a helped create a black market with massive incentives to hook both adults and children alike.

If you support prohibition you've helped to make these dangerous substances available in schools and prisons.

If you support prohibition you've helped raise gang warfare to a level not seen since the days of alcohol bootlegging.

If you support prohibition you've helped create the prison-for-profit synergy with drug lords.

If you support prohibition you've helped remove many important civil liberties from those citizens you falsely claim to represent.

If you support prohibition you've helped put previously unknown and contaminated drugs on the streets.

If you support prohibition you've helped to escalate Theft, Muggings and Burglaries.

If you support prohibition you've helped to divert scarce law-enforcement resources away from protecting your fellow citizens from the ever escalating violence against their person or property.

If you support prohibition you've helped overcrowd the courts and prisons, thus making it increasingly impossible to curtail the people who are hurting and terrorizing others.

If you still support prohibition then prepare yourself for even more death, corruption, sickness, imprisonment, unemployment, foreclosed homes, and the complete loss of the rule of law and the Bill of Rights.

I dunno...Russ, how come were so excited over this alreay obvious news. Everyone seems to be emailing it around all over the place today. "Nearly" 6 out of 10.."Nearly" implies close and really its "Nearly" 5 out of 10 also, which puts us at 50% or in between 60%. What the heck is going on? On the West Coast Im thinking 7-8 should be for this. I would have expected these numbers 5-10 years ago.

I guess its better than nothing and some areas, just doesnt feel like a victory to me. Or, my expectations are to HIGH.....

If we could just talk to these people who oppose legalization, if we could just provide them with an open forum where they could air their concerns and hear our reasons why legalization will benefit *them* then we'd make huge gains in gaining the support of nonusers.

It is *their* support that we need to get marijuana legalized, and they'll only support it when they see how legalization will benefit their lives.

Alcohol and tobacco are legal because it makes non-drinkers and non-smokers safer, and marijuana will only become legal when non-tokers understand that legalization will benefit *them*.
